Perfectly fine monitor, looks good and works well Feb 27, 2010 Delivered on time and in perfect condition. Works fine. I can't hear any power supply noises sitting in front of it, and my house is pretty quiet. If you put your ear right up next to where the power plug enters the unit then you can hear some power supply noise, but that's true for most of the electronics I own. Runs cool. There is an idle light on the bottom front edge that flashes when the screen timer has shutdown the idle screen. The monitor works fine for my weekend photography work, and creating a profile for it with "ColorPlus" was no problem. I am not a digital photo expert, but the contrast controls appear to provide enough control to set the monitor up with this tool: [...]

Better than most for only a few more $ Jan 06, 2010 The Samsung F2380 monitor uses a new cPVA LCD technology that provides good brightness, color and contrast over a wider viewing angle than most LCD monitors sold today. It is not quite as good as the SyncMaster 226BW that I replaced, but that technology is (sadly) no longer available.

Great for Business Use Dec 17, 2009 Since my middle-age eyes spend most work time in front of a monitor, display performance, ergonomics, reliable buttons and stand sturdiness and were my criteria. Conducted about two months of painstaking research and finally bought a Samsung F2380. Glad to report that the F2380 exceeds my expectations. The slim screen comes with a stand that swivels, tilts and has height adjustment. IPS panel technology provides super-crisp text combined with a sturdy and versatile stand make this a great monitor for business use.

Great picture, problematic stand Nov 09, 2009 I have used this monitor for several weeks now and it has great picture colors and picture/text quality. I am also able to view welll from different angles and quality of picture is good. The response time is good for office use, but gamers might consider monitors with 2-5 ms response instead of 8ms as is the case for this monitor. The value for the money of this monutor is also good.
The cons of this monitor are problematic stand - it is designed with ergonomic features in mind, but unfortunatelly the circular stand design does not do well with vibrations or movement of the underlying surface - due to its design and narrow cilindar stand bar and not wide enought stand at the botto it amplifies them. This is very problematic if you type of a surface that is not 100% imovable and usally in offices and in home most desks have some leve. of vibration. I wish the designers have leveregad excellend stand design of previous Samsung professional monitors - 193P/173P which had superb stand (excellent vibration hadnling) and were also more elegant - power and connectiosn were done at the botttom of the stand. I hope that Samsung switches to flatter/rectangular stand that is better at handling lateral vibration which is very important for flat, wide panels - as is done by Apple, Dlell, HP and some other brands for a reason. I am also not a fan of internal power supply and the power is too short - makes it a problem to connect in the first place and also when trying to put monitor in portait mode.
Finally, I hope that Samsung does introduce soon LED backlit (environmentally friendlier/mercury free) professional monitors - leveraging technology from their new premim monitor XL2370.
