**** Better than Expected. Good Value for the Money **** Mar 01, 2010
I got this camera for my 18 years old grandniece as her first camera.
Over the years, I've owned many cameras from Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc. And after reading numerous reviews, what attracted me to this camera was the ease of use, the girly color, and the price. It turned out to be a good choice. And my grandniece loves it. She was able to figure out how to use it on her own in no time.
The camera is very easy to use, it took very good to excellent pictures in a variety of lighting conditions, it records video, it's small enough to fit in a shirt pocket, has rechargeable battery that last for many, many pictures even with flash. In addition, it has the expansion slot for SD card, so you can take any number of photos depending on the SD card.
Overall, this is a very good everyday use camera and a very reasonable price.

The camera was fine, but quit working while under warranty. There was no serial number on the unit. I guess it was on the box, but we could not find the box. After 10+ days of me calling customer service, faxing the invoice, and e-mailing a picture of the camera to prove there was not a serial number - Samsung told me it was illegal for them to service the unit under warranty. I wasted hours!! If they had told me that to start with, I could have lived with it. If at all possible, I will not by a Samsung product again.

Perfect camera for non professionals Sep 30, 2009
I have had this camera for over a year. I picked it for the pixels (8.2) and the color(red). Kinda lame to go by color, I know. On Thanksgiving Day, last year, I had my sister take some pictures of my family (I refuse to pay studio prices when I can get a print for a very low price at Walmart). I blew up the one I liked to a 16x20 to hang on my wall. It turned out perfectly. No distortion or pixelation(if that's the right word). I take my own pictures, individuals, of my children. They are also all on the wall. 8x10, and of course they look magnificent. I think it's very easy to use, and love it. However, I made a bad choice and took my camera on a river rafting trip. It got just a little sprinkling, and it's ruined. But I am buying a new one because it was such a great camera.

Portable, Easy to Use; Some Pictures Are Not Rendered Correctly May 13, 2009
I received this camera as a gift, and used it on my recent trip to Italy. Imagine my dismay when I discovered that many of the pictures I had taken were not even valid jpegs! No program could open them! Moreover, many other pictures had not been processed correctly by the camera, leading to images that are missing color channels, split, or a combination of the two. Hopefully this is an isolated issue, because otherwise this camera works well for simple point-and-shoot purposes.
