 Decent for video games, not so much for text Feb 19, 2010
I had to fuss with the controls to make text readable. After I made the text readable, the contrast poor enough that I couldn't distinguish between alternating rows on my spreadsheet of white and pale yellow. The monitor works well for games

 Smoldering Samsung SyncMaster 2220WM Sep 30, 2009
This is a heads up for anyone with a Samsung SyncMaster 2220WM monitor - mine started smoldering and filled the house with the fumes of burning plastic - which are poisonous (especially for children and pets). I was lucky that I was up late and was able to unplug it as soon as I realized where the smell was coming from. (the billowing smoke from the back of the monitor was a dead giveaway). What if I had been upstairs asleep? (which is where my children were). What if I had not been home? Our Fire Dept said that anything hot enough to start smoke billowing from burning plastic could ignite to a fire. Samsung Customer Relations didn't care - "just send it in and we will fix it".
The smell of the burning plastic clung to my carpet and furniture. I had to rent a Rug Doctor to get the smell out of the house.
So play it safe - Please turn off your Samsung monitors when you are not home - MORE IMPORTANTLY - when you go to sleep!!.
If you are looking at a new monitor - please keep my experience in mind.

I've been using one of these displays for business for over a year now. Nothing to complain about. Great value. I don't use the speakers. I'm ordering a second so that I can run dual monitors.

 Horrible quality with bad color reproduction Jan 22, 2009
I just got 2 of these monitors at work and they are terrible (compared to my HP LP2065 and Dell 2007FP at home). They are low resolution (1680x1050 for a 22" panel vs 19200x1200 for the good ones). Do not buy these unless you are color blind. Definitely stay away from these if you do any sort of professional graphics work because what print or distribute will be the wrong colors.

This is a very solid 22 inch monitor. I love the very crisp picture it portrays and the 22 inch screen is awesome! You can even watch DVDs and netflix movies as if it were a tv. I am definitely glad I purchased this. I even purchased it as a refurbished product and it came as if it were brand new along with a warranty. Had it for about 6 months and absolutely no problems so far. Save yourself 100 bucks and buy it refurbished. I got it for approx. 200 shipped. An excellent deal for a 22 inch monitor, try getting that at "Best(rip off)Buy" and they'll laugh at you.
